8 to the bar Submissions

On December 6, (9:00 a.m. CST), submissions will open for GreenMan Theatre Troupe's sixth annual “8 to the Bar” 10-minute play festival, to be performed in July, 2026 at Mystic Vines in Villa Park, Illinois.

Prompt: “Lights! Camera! Action!” The key word is “action.” Think outside the box.
Geographic Limitation: None.
Fee: None.
Remuneration: The top three plays (by audience vote) will be respectively awarded $200, $100 and $50.

Deadline is January 6, unless the quota is reached earlier. Last year, due to Getting the Word Out more aggressively, we were swamped with submissions, reaching our quota (and then some) within the first 6 hours. If you're interested in this, think about submitting when submissions open on December 6.
