This course covers the applications of brush chippers and stump cutters used in tree and landscape environments with an emphasis on job safety analysis, emergency planning, and PPE. Participants will learn about the start-up, shut-down, and ergonomic practices for equipment operation. The course also includes the selection, design, and safety features of heavy equipment, as well as pre-work inspection and maintenance procedures. Additionally, students will gain hands-on experience with brush chipper and stump cutter operations and understand the best practices for trailering and transport.
