FORWARD | 16 minutes | by Palmer Morse | United States | Short synopsis: Facing caregiving, multiple jobs, and housing insecurity, Anjelica Avella turned to nature to support her mental health. Noticing few plus-size women of color on trails, she began leading hikes to build community. Forward shares her story and the power of belonging in the outdoors.
THE SILENT SPOTTER | 18.93 minutes | by Ra Beattie | United States | Short synopsis: Silent Spotter follows Tommy Batun, a deaf and mute fly-fishing guide in Mexico. Using lip-reading and self-invented signs, Tommy leads anglers with wit and resilience.
