Room for up to six students who wish to explore “Painting with the Masters: Edgar Payne” by examining his approach to subject matter, color saturation, and composition execution. Learning from a Master of these techniques will enable us to stretch our own artistic skills.
There are three dates in May for this subject: May 2nd, 16th, & 23rd. Come to all three or just one, your choice. Each class stands alone, but a similar topic is discussed. You may continue with the painting you begin during your first class or paint something new each session. The class fee below is for one date, double or triple the fee for however many dates you plan to attend.

Pay an additional $65 fee for a beginner's supply kit if required. (one kit is sufficient even if taking all three sessions)
Supply kit includes: Pro-Quality Heavy Body Acrylic paint set (Golden Traditional 8-pc paint set plus glazing liquid), 5 pc brush set, 5 pc palette knife set, sketch book, color wheel, & canvas or panel--8x10, 12x12 or 11x14--If you bring your own, please do not go larger than 16x20 because space is limited.
Students are required to use their own tools each session.
(Basic tool setup to include water cup, paper towels, brushes, palette knife or knives, & painting set-up: palette, paints, gel medium or glazing liquid, tabletop easel is optional, canvas or panel—6x6 up to 16x20.)

In this course we will:
• Learn how to set our canvas up for success by toning the canvas or panel before we begin. We use Pro-Quality Acrylics with additives like gel medium or glazing liquids so that they behave like oils without the mess and odor.
• Learn how contrast and color saturation levels change our work: on paper paint one practice painting with high saturation and paint another one more muted. (pocket pochades) Compare the two. Select which one to paint on our canvas/panel.
• Learn how to paint faster with less angst by reducing the number of strokes you apply—load those brushes with paint.
This course is only one of several acrylic painting courses by Becca, held twice monthly.

Returning students help determine the subject/project we focus on each time.
