THE MEMORY GUARDIANS: THE HOUSE ON STONE STREET
by Sue Carol Elvin (Illustrator: Cath Kerr)
Sue Carol is a member of North Georgia Book Club and will be here in person for this gathering. We’ll use our time to first allow Sue Carol to do a short presentation about her book, then we’ll have our regular book discussion followed by time for Sue Carol to discuss anything she wishes about the book, her writing process, answer questions and more.
This is a newly published book (2024) and is aimed at a young audience (grades 4-6) but is enjoyable for all ages.
143 Pages
Book Description:
An old sea captain and his wife buy a house on Stone Street where they plan to live out their days. Boogery Mungo and Umbriago have been there 120 years, gathering and guarding memories of the humans and animals who have lived there.
They are eager to hear new stories of foreign places to add to the memories they will review and disburse when the house is torn down to make way for a parking lot. Over the years, humans and animals come and go in the house, but their memories are handed down for generations.
Join Boo and Iago on a fantastical journey through time, learning the history of decades past, as they guard the memories of the house’s past inhabitants.
The book is available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It's also on Kindle Unlimited, and for purchase as a Kindle book. NOTE: Sue Carol has provided Stacey Day with enough hard copy books for our group's regular attendees - Stacey will distribute at 9/13 gathering or contact Stacey to meet up.
