CreativiTEA: Tea Ceremony & Watercolor Painting

Embark on a unique sensory journey at Bohemian House with CreativiTEA, an evening blending the ancient art of tea ceremony with the transformative power of watercolor painting.

Begin your journey at Bohemian House with an immersive tea ceremony, designed to awaken your senses and set your intentions in alignment with the power of the approaching new moon. The ceremony commences with an introduction to a custom tea blend, crafted from the very ingredients that will later transform into your artistic palette. Discover the health benefits and mystical properties of these botanicals as they are artfully combined before you. Engage in a grounding meditation designed to support your intentions. A guided visualization will further illuminate your path, leading to a sensory exploration of the steeped tea led by Mike Barberesi, Teishu, studying tea sommelier, and creator of Intentional Tea Time. Throughout the ceremony, opportunities for journaling are woven in to solidify your personal connections and aspirations. This ritual prepares you to transition seamlessly into the painting experience, fostering a deep connection between the inner and outer expressions of your creativity.

Following the tea ceremony, you will create your own one-of-a-kind piece of art using tea pigments. Painting with natural tea pigments has been used for thousands of years and originated in China, giving a sepia toned monochromatic watercolor effect. Tiffany Averill, owner of Bohemian House in Historic Ellicott City, is a master painter who will guide you along the process of self-expression. Intended to be an extension of the tea ceremony meditation, creating art in any form lends itself to balancing the central nervous system, and bringing the artist, no matter what experience level, closer to nature.
