Gold Panning

Step into the boots of a 49er and try your luck at striking it rich! Discover the excitement and challenges faced by gold seekers during the California Gold Rush as you learn the traditional technique of gold panning. Using real pans and water troughs, participants will practice swirling and sifting to uncover hidden “gold” while exploring the impact of the Gold Rush on America’s landscape, economy, and diverse communities. Will you find fortune, or just a little fool’s gold? Join us and experience a hands-on piece of history!
