About this Event

Jefferson Moss-Magee Program in Advanced Application of Clinical Technology for Lower Extremity (Jefferson MMPAACT-LE)

Empowering Clinicians. Advancing LE Rehabilitation. Transforming Lives.

Walking and lower extremity dysfunction remain some of the most complex rehabilitation challenges faced by adults with neurologic conditions. With technological advancements accelerating at a rapid pace, clinicians and scientists must not only understand how to use these devices—but also lead the way in integrating them into practice.

The Jefferson Moss-Magee Program in Advanced Application of Clinical Technology for Lower Extremity equips clinicians, rehabilitation specialists, and clinical scientists to be leaders and knowledge brokers in applying technology and robotics to optimize functional outcomes. This blended program combines independent, self-paced study with immersive, in-person instruction.

PRE-PROGRAM INDEPENDENT STUDY: Eight online, self-paced sessions with recorded lectures, guided activities and knowledge assessments (to be completed prior to in-person training - total of 6 contact hours).

The Independent study portion introduces the foundations of technology use in lower extremity rehabilitation, moving from theory to practice. Participants will reflect on their own practice, learn to apply the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) for planning and integration, and critically appraise evidence on common rehabilitation technologies. The course also reviews the Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System (RTSS) and introduces the Moss-Magee Assisted Walking Scale (MMAWS) as a clinical assessment tool. Learners will be prepared to integrate technology thoughtfully to enhance patient outcomes -- and join us for the hands-on sessions which follow.

IN-PERSON EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING WITH NATION'S LARGEST COLLECTION OF REHABILITATION ROBOTICS

November 13–15, 2025 | Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation, Elkins Park | 60 Township Line Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027

The 3-day in-person portion of the course is located at JMMR's Elkins Park facility, which houses the nation's largest collection of rehabilitation devices. These sessions provide a dynamic, practice-focused training experience that bridges patient care, clinical reasoning, and cutting-edge technology. Through actual patient evaluations, treatment planning, and hands-on interventions, participants will collaborate about real-world applications and gain practical strategies to champion LE technology in their clinics and individual practices.
