2Part Workshop
The 8 limbs of yoga are:
1. The Yamas (Relationship with the external world)
2. The Niyamas (Relationship with Self)
3. Asana (Physical Postures or Relationship with Body)
4. Pranayama (Relationship with the Breath)
5. Pratyahara (Relationship with the Senses)
6. Dharana (Attention)
7. Dhyana (Meditation)
8. Samadhi (Bliss / Enlightenment)
As you can see there is a lot more to yoga than what most people are aware of. Most people today only know yoga as the 3rd limb path, the physical postures. The west has completely skipped over the first two limbs which lay the foundation for a true & effective yoga practice.
The Yamas & Niyamas provide with us with the energy, the balance, the necessary insight, and the motivation to work the rest of the limbs of the path. The eight limb path is not linear; it is a dance of energies building upon themselves. Without the Yamas & Niyamas, the rest of the path is EMPTY TECHNIQUE.
This 2part workshop will take place on two consecutive Tuesday evenings. August 19th & 26th, both classes will be from 7-9pm.
