About the Author: Ashley Shult Langdon is the author of Mildly Scenic: A Trail Guide to Sacramento’s Lower American River, a local love letter to bite-sized adventures and everyday nature. A writer, parent, and explorer at heart, she spent decades guiding international and wilderness expeditions—but these days, she finds just as much thrill in exploring nearby trails without the hours of travel.
