Full Moon Candlelight Yoga

Immerse yourself in the glow of candles as we flow through celestial inspired poses to honor the full moon. All levels are welcome. This class is included in all KARMA memberships, drop-in rate applies. Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins, please.

The August full moon is commonly called the "Sturgeon Moon," a name originating from Native American tribes, particularly around the Great Lakes region, where large sturgeon fish were most easily caught during this time. Other traditional names include the "Green Corn Moon," "Grain Moon," and "Red Moon," reflecting the late summer harvest season.

Many contemporary spiritual traditions view the August full moon as a time for gratitude, manifestation, and preparing for autumn transitions. It's often associated with themes of abundance, harvest, and reaping what has been sown earlier in the year.
