Bachata (Open Level)

The Bachata program is an open level program for both new dancers and experienced dancers. The curriculum is designed to develop participants for social dancing. As in all of our programs, we use a curated collection of shines (footwork patterns), drills, and partnerwork patterns to build up all of the foundational skills the participant needs to become proficient as social dancers.

Salsa On2, for On1 Dancers

Our Salsa On2, for On1 Dancers is designed to introduce On1 dancers who already have a foundation in Salsa, to the On2 system of Salsa. To participate in this program, participants should already have a grounding in the basics & fundamentals of Salsa, with knowledge and practical proficiency in movements such as the right & left turns, cross body movements, and the inside & outside turns. Participants who already have acquired a basic understanding in these movements using the On2 system can also benefit from this program.

This program will (re)introduce the philosophical premise that grounds the On2 system as articulated by its popularizer, Eddie Torres. The program will reinforce the foundational movements using the On2 system, creating drills rather than patterns, as a path to practical knowledge & proficiency for social dancing.

In this program, the instructor will not stop to explain fundamentals such as, "cross-body," and "inside-turn." This program presumes knowledge and experience in these movements, albeit from a different system of dancing Salsa, such as the On1 system.

📍 These lessons will take place in the "Chamber Room" at Vintage City Offices, located at 30 Union St, Elizabeth, NJ
