Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration with Elgin Parks & Registration
Saturday, September 20th | 5PM - 9PM | Veterans Memorial Park

Come celebrate and learn about Hispanic Heritage Month with us! We'll have interactive booths, live music, food trucks, and plenty of exciting activities for all ages. Explore the unique offerings at the La Cultura Market, test your pipes in the Grito contest starting around 7:15PM, and sample some delicious entries in the charro beans cook-off. It's a great opportunity to celebrate and learn more about Hispanic culture, food, and traditions.

Is your charro bean recipe the very best in all of Elgin? Put it to the test at the charro bean cook off at Viva Elgin to win the prize provided by Valentina's. Tasting will take place 5PM - 7PM with the winner announced after 7PM. The community will vote which charro bean recipe is superior.
