Gyros, Souvlaki, Drinks, Sweets & More!
St. Sophia Church at 525 Church Road in Elgin (Rt. 31 and I-90) will present its 45th annual summer “Greek Fest” the weekend of June 6th, 7th and 8th 2025. The fest will be open on Friday and Saturday from 12 noon to 10pm. Sunday’s hours are 12 noon to 9pm.
The Festival is open to the public and admission is FREE.
We are proud to serve authentic Greek delicacies such as Gyros, Grecian Chicken, Souvlaki, Spanakopita (Spinach Pie), Pastitsio, Saganaki (the flaming cheese) and Greek Salad – all while enjoying ice cold refreshments including Greek Beer, Mediterranean Wine and the LEGENDARY Village Squire MAI TAI.
Feel free to unwind at the Greek Kafenio where many traditional sweets such as Baklava and loukoumathes can be found. Enjoy a cup of Greek or American coffee and peruse through dozens of Greek desserts and cookie varietals.
Friday’s entertainment starts with The Hellenic 5 Greek Band followed by the American Band Brass From the Past playing all the hits! Saturday features authentic Greek Music from the Apollo 3, Terran's Greek Band followed by the incredibly popular Jonny Lyons and the Pride cover band. Sunday concludes with great Greek Music ALL DAY and we are also proud to feature Greek Dancing all weekend
What better way to cool off than in our “Plaka” Marketplace inside our church hall where you can shop for fabulous crafts, beautiful jewelry, books, icons, clothing and other treasures.
