Gilberts' Annual Fishing Derby this year will take place on Saturday August 2, 2024 at Memorial Park!
Registration will open at 8am at the park (no preregistration).
Then, fishing will start at 8:30am and go until 9:30am. Awards will follow at 9:45am in the Memorial Park Pavilion.
The derby will be held RAIN OR SHINE. However, if there's lightning, we will cancel the derby for safety.
Registration is $5 per person, and comes with a snack pack. You will also get a dozen worms, but if you are in a group we ask that you share them.
There are age categories for:
Ages 8 and Under
Ages 9-12
Ages 13-16
Ages 17 and Up
Between 8:30am and 9:30am, our official fish measurers will make rounds around the pond to measure the length of your catches. We will not be measuring weight.
The largest catch in each age category will win a trophy to commemorate your fishing prowess!
