Drumming is good for the spirit, heart, and soul. It is beneficial for stress relief, enhanced focus, concentration, and creativity, and increased social interaction and community engagement. It is a powerful way to send good energy into the world—and don't we need lots of that right now?!
Join us for an evening of percussion and community in the beautiful and peaceful Eldorado Canyon.
Registration is free, but a Colorado Parks and Wildlife pass or a $10 entry fee is required to enter.
All Ages welcome!!
Bring a drum or percussion instrument if you have one. If not, we will have some to share!
Facilitating the event is Mary Rose.
Mary Rose, aka "The Drummer Lady in the Neighborhood" grew up listening to the beat of the powwow drums in central Wyoming. She played her older brother's bongo drums (when she was supposed to be practicing the piano), and later became enamored with the Middle Eastern dumbek as an accompaniment for belly dancing. She has studied with Gregg Hansen and performed for many years with DjO, the djembe orchestra he conducts. She is fascinated by drums and percussion instruments from around the world. She loves guiding people of all ages into the creative spirit of shared rhythm, which she enjoys in a supportive community. She teaches improvisational drum & percussion classes in Longmont, Colorado.
