Curious about where your water comes from and how it's reused? Join West Basin Municipal Water District and discover how water is transformed to support Southern California’s diverse needs.
Led by Susanna Li, West Basin’s Manager of Engineering, this tour will give you a behind-the-scenes look at the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility—the only treatment system in the world that produces five distinct types of recycled water tailored to municipal, commercial and industrial customer needs. You’ll learn how wastewater is transformed into high-quality recycled water through advanced processes like microfiltration, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet disinfection.
You’ll also discover how West Basin is reducing the region’s dependence on imported drinking water by expanding local water reuse and other conservation efforts. The tour includes a facility walkthrough, visuals of the treatment process and a chance to ask questions about water reliability, drought resilience and West Basin’s role in regional sustainability.
This tour offers valuable insights into how we protect and manage our local water resources. Take advantage of this chance to learn, and be inspired to take part in preserving one of earth’s most precious resources.
