Andrea Amaro, was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She is a professional mixed martial artist with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses. Currently, she holds the title of the Fury FC Strawweight Champion and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, making her the only woman black belt in El Paso. Her martial arts journey began in 2005 at Bushido MMA, where she trained under Hugo Sida until 2021. After that, she ventured out into the community and established a team of several men who own and run their own martial arts facilities. She is currently under the guidance of Michael Diaz (City Wolves), Cristobal Chavez (10th Planet El Paso), Carlos Pacheco (Elite Kickboxing Academy), and Mando Rosales (Zen Martial Arts).

The goal of this team is to unite the community and produce fighters like herself who can compete successfully at the biggest stages. She has been training and competing for about a decade now, and she hopes to eventually be a part of the community’s efforts to nurture and develop new women. In addition to her martial arts background she also has experience in high school wrestling, where she qualified for the state championships. She was a collegiate runner for El Paso Community College, where she was a four-time All-American and a two-time half-marathon national champion. Currently, she is a graduate student studying clinical psychology.
