The movie Fandango (PG) stars Kevin Costner. It was filmed primarily in locations across West Texas, including San Elizario. This event is part of a special weekend of programming in partnership with the Texas Historical Commission and the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street (MoMS) program alongside the traveling exhibition “Crossroads: Change in Rural America”. Films and videotapes submitted to the Round-Up will be digitized at TAMI’s Austin office and returned by mail to the owners, along with a digital copy. To qualify for free digitization, the films and videotapes must be Texas-related, and participants must be willing to donate a digital copy of their materials to the program. A selection of materials from the Round-Up will be incorporated into TexasArchive.org, a crowd-sourced library of Texas-related moving images. More info can be found at TexasArchive.org/Round-Up.
