Casting Call for "Hairspray" the musical at SAAC • In 1960s Baltimore, dance-loving teen Tracy Turnblad auditions for a spot on "The Corny Collins Show" and wins. She becomes an overnight celebrity, a trendsetter in dance, fun, and fashion. Perhaps her new status as a teen sensation is enough to topple Corny's reigning dance queen and bring racial integration to the show. But she must use her newfound power to vanquish the reigning teen queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network, all without denting her do.
AUDITION CALL MAY 12 and 13.
Attend either or both days.
REGISTRATION 6:00pm • Fill out an audition form & have your picture taken.
AUDITIONS 6:30pm • Present one of the approved song cuts & 1 minute monologue of choice. Learn a short musical theatre dance combination.
