De vijfvoudig Grammy-winnende jazzpianist en componist Bill Laurance bewandelde al heel wat creatieve paden. Hij is een van de oprichters van fusionband Snarky Puppy, maar daarnaast bracht hij de voorbije jaren ook albums uit met de WDR Big Band (‘Live at the Philharmonie Cologne’, 2019), met de strijkers van The Untold Orchestra (‘Bloom’, 2024) en in duo met bassist Michael League (‘Keeping Company’, 2024). In 2022 deed ie het dan weer helemaal solo en intiem op zijn pianoplaat ‘Affinity’.

Bill Laurance’s nieuwste trio bestaat, naast de man zelf, uit de jonge drummer Oscar Ogden (Doom Cannon, Charlie Stacey) en bassist Menelik Claffey (Byron Wallen, Secret Night Gang). In 2024 releasete het Bill Laurance Trio een eerste EP ‘The Rhodes Mk8 Sessions’, met daarop vier nieuwe groovende tracks.
