“A Poet is a nightingale who sits in darkness, and sings to cheer its own solitude with sweet sounds; his auditors are as men entranced by the melody of an unseen musician, who feel that they are moved and softened, yet know not whence or why.”
― Percy Bysshe Shelley

You are all cordially invited to attend this magnificent event which will be featuring Patti Sinclair, an enchanting poetess who hails from the City of Champions.
The master of ceremonies will be the vivacious Kathy Fisher.
A prime location for poetry readings, The Kasbar is an exotic lounge with a superb Greek Mediterranean menu and an equally excellent selection of spirits, ale, wine, tea, and coffee.
Under the auspices of the stars, we dare you to partake in an exciting evening of comedy and drama. Come and forge new friendships, or mend old ones anew. But above all, come and sate your sense of adventure - come and have fun.
🂡 Patti Sinclair’s poems have clocked time on buses. They've drifted on radio waves, and dwell in anthologies. They've been executed at poetry, music, and art festivals. They've been performed at Edmonton's Sounds from the Valley (annual concert). This year, Winnipeg’s At Bay Press, published Patti’s book The Late Season: a long narrative poem which traverses the stygian territory of how death re-stories our lives.
🂡 We shall indeed be visited by (yet another) great spirit, a legendary poet who is expected to bewitch the audience with the element of fire.🔥
🂡 Kathy Fisher is an Edmonton-based, Montreal-born multidisciplinary artist, performance poet and documentarian. You’ll often see her as a feature or host in the literary, festival and spoken word scene. A peripatetic person, inspiration for her poetry stems from travels and times in global and regional locales: be they Egypt or Australia, Istanbul or Cobalt, Lake Memphremagog or Sulphur Mountain. Her poetry has been published in chapbooks, anthologies, in traditional and on-line literary journals, and produced on radio, television and numerous CDs. In 2023, she wrote, directed and produced her Spanish-flu themed show, Vox Virago with a six-person ensemble. Her video-poem wabi-sabi, co-produced with filmmaker Louise Abbott, screened in LA in November 2024 at The Film and Poetry Symposium where Fisher delivered “[a]n ardent yet comedic poetry recital”. Poetry is the lens through which she researches in law, salvages and restores old homes, and tracks down clues in history, heritage and genealogy.
