Garneau Summer Concert Series: Sammy Volkov

Join us for the first in a series of FREE concerts in Eleanor Thomas Park (8624 107 Street, north of the Granite Curling Club).

Imagine if Roy Orbison and Townes Van Zandt co-wrote a song - weird - but it works. Sammy Volkov'’s songs caress the ear like homages to Brill Building songwriters while capturing his cinematic approach to music-making. Sammy’s ‘Be Alright!’ was the first album to debut at #1 on Alberta’s CKUA Top 30 Chart and his 2024 album of duets with Dana Wylie ('The Day Had To Come') topped Bandcamp’s ‘Best Country Music of 2024’ list. Sammy sophomore solo album, "Songs From the Goodbye Garden," is due out in 2026.
