Clare Pellerin at The Red Door

The daughter of a violist and an award-winning sound engineer, Clare began playing violin at age 5. She studied violin and composition at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore and at Colgate University in upstate New York, and earned an MA in Composition and Violin Performance at York University in Toronto, where she was concertmaster of the York University Symphony.

Currently a DMus. student in violin performance at the University of Alberta, Clare has played in ensembles across the GTA, upstate New York, California, and Singapore, including the Seiler Strings, Symphonia London, the Eramosa Ensemble, the Society for New Music, the Emperor Quartet, and Volker Hartung's Swing Band.

Clare will be playing us a mix of upbeat classical, popular covers, and atmospheric world music, with backing tracks and amplification as well as one original work!
