UCO Pom Tryouts 2025

We are so excited for this years tryout! Please see below for all details!

First round : VIDEO SUBMISSION & LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
For video submissions, we would like to have the following on film:

- pirouettes (as many as you can do) (please demonstrate twice)
- 2 of your most advanced level turn combinations, in alaseconde’ (please include pirouettes, floats, changing/reverse spots)
- 3 jumps/leaps of your choice
- 2 leg skills of your choice
- 3 (or more) acro skills of your choice (aerial if possible, rubber band if possible)
- 2 videos of you performing dance choreography (1 hip hop, 1 contemporary/jazz) (this can be from a class or performance)
- 1 minute solo (style: contemporary, jazz, lyrical, or hip hop)
- short introduction of yourself and your background

Please wear black dance top, black dance shorts (you may wear pants for hip hop portion), and appropriate shoes for the style being performed.

Combine into one video, and email. You may email the actual video, or a shared drop box link. Please also attach 3 letters of recommendation from coaches/employers/etc., from the past 3 years. These may not include family members.

VIDEO SUBMISSIONS MUST BE SENT IN NO LATER THAN MAY 23rd at 12:00pm (noon) TO VUNPUE9NU1FVQUQgfCBHTUFJTCAhIENPTQ== . They will be reviewed that evening, and second round will be contacted by May 24th.

Second Round : ZOOM INTERVIEW
After reviewing the video submissions, we will make a cut, contact those that will move onto the second round. We will then schedule a zoom interview with each of you. Interviews will be held May 26-27th.

Once concluded, we will email those that have made it to the final round (in person auditions, by end of day, May 27th.

Final Round : IN PERSON AUDITION

-May 31st - check in 9:00am @ Health & Physical Education building.

• 10:00am-1:00pm - learn contemporary, and hip hop combinations, as well as a sideline dance.
  -June 1st - check in 9:00am @ Health & Physical Education Building.
• 10:00am - 1:00pm - Auditions
• 2:00pm - Team Announcement (via email)
• 2:30pm - First team meeting
