Join us for a celebration of compost and worms for all ages with activities and performances including:
- Make your own Ode to the Worms fridge magnet with collaged found text to prompt home kitchen appreciating
- Screen printing giftcards with bio-based ink
- Games! Pin the (paper) worm on the parsnip, Guess how many (live) worms are in the bucket (and anything else we can think of between now and then, feel free to send your suggestions in!)
- Burlap blanket sewing - stitch a protective layer for the vermicompost to help keep the worms warm
- Mystic compost tea readings
- Ceremonial opening of our new Vermicompost System with spoken word, worm facts, live worms, audio installation, big puppets, painting and more!
- Soup!

Accessibility Notes
We will be in our Community Garden (this is not the same location as last year's W.O.R.M.S celebration which was in our Market Garden, so please make sure you go to the right place!). The ground is rough and uneven, but there are no steps and people have navigated it in robust wheelchairs. We will mostly be outdoors - be prepared for windy north Edinburgh. There are hands-on activities, but no heavy lifting.
