Up is a hopeful and joyful meditation played out as a fantasy tabletop adventure – Lucky Jay and Unlucky Jayme find love in the most unusual of circumstances.
A big story told with everyday tiny things, Up is an exploration of the unity of opposites discovered through ‘Object Theatre’, a dynamic and imaginative artistic discipline rarely seen in the UK.
When Up first toured Scotland in Autumn 2024, the story and form provoked such wonderful responses from audiences and critics alike, that it was inevitable it had to be shared with an even wider audience at the world's largest and best theatre festival in Edinburgh.
Performed by two of Scottish Theatre’s leading actors (Zoë Hunter and Michael Dylan), Up is a captivating and thrilling two-hander. As emergency masks plummet, engines squeal and hand baggage flies from the overhead bins, two strangers hold hands. Scared and breathless, their lives flash past as they face their final moments together.
A journey which turns time upside down and all the things that matter start to make sense.
For ages 14 +
