The Nutella Wars
Some people think being rich is having a big house or fancy cars. For me, it was always the size of the Nutella jar in the cupboard. Tiny jar? Struggle town. Family-size tub? You can retire.
As a kid, we couldn’t afford Nutella. We had “chocolate spread,” which was just sadness in a jar. I’ve got teenagers of my own now, and I can afford to buy them the big Nutella. But times have changed, and they don’t want it. They prefer skincare and an iPhone instead.
The Nutella Wars is my third solo show It’s about Nutella, but also about growing up in war (hilarious, I promise!) migrating to Australia, raising teenagers and thinking you’ve found ice cream in the freezer just to find it’s leftover lentils. There’s also a 1976 estate named Bertha. She’s the emotional support vehicle.
