Hi folks,
in our hilly and obstacle-filled Edinburgh, have you ever wished you could handle streets more safely? If so, this might be one for you:
On Tuesday 30th September, weather permitting, I'll be teaching the basics of stops & handling slopes. Location is in the new built area in Turnhouse, Edinburgh West (see map pin). The workshop is aimed at beginners, inline skates (although quads are welcome too, we might just need to get creative in adjusting the exercises a little!)
We'll move through exercises gradually, step by step so everyone can learn at their own pace. I'll explain the rationale behind the techniques, demonstrate how to do the basics correctly and there'll be plenty opportunity to practise for yourself too. The idea is to equip you with enough knowledge on how to practise so you can do it on your own as well.
The workshop is free, I'm not a business just a skate enthusiast with a physiotherapist background who likes to help other skaters navigate streets safely.
Looking forward to seeing a few souls come along but please understand this is at your own risk, you are in charge of your own safety so bring along whatever protection is adequate for your skate level.
I'll try to confirm closer to the date if the workshop is happening as we won't be practising when it's really wet.
If the first workshop is successful and there is interest, I'd be happy to think about running more sessions but for now this is just a one-off trial.
Hope to see you all soon!
