Some gigs coming up at the Leith Jazz & Blues Festival, on the 2nd weekend of June 2025 :
Friday night - 8pm to 10pm - Mud In Your Ear blues trio play at The Bowler's Rest, 24 Mitchell St, Leith, Edinburgh EH6 7BD.
Saturday afternoon - 3pm to 5pm - Gary Martin blues duo (with Richard O'Donnell) play at Malones, Constitution Street
Saturday Evening - 7.30pm to 9.30pm - Mud In Your Ear blues trio, Carrier's Quarters, Bernard Street.
Mud In Your Ear was started by Richard O'Donnell (vocals, guitars, piano), over 30yrs ago, while a student in Dundee. Once back home in Edinburgh, Allan "Prof Scratchy" Jones (6 & 12 string guitars) boosted the guitar / harmonica duo to a v exciting early blues trio, with a good dose of 1950's blues too - all on multiple guitars, boogie-woogie piano and harmonica, and all three of us taking turn on vocals. Gary Martin, frontman of the Jensen Intercepters blues band, is our third member, on vocals, harmonica AND slide guitar.
