Ivy Big Band is an Edinburgh-based big band for women and gender minorities, formed with the goal of breaking down some of the barriers that prevent women and gender minorities from getting involved in jazz, and creating a safe and inclusive place to play together. Founded in 2024 with just 10 members and now composed of 30 musicians, including saxophonists, trumpeters, trombonists, rhythm players and vocalists, the band blends jazz, pop, funk, soul and beyond.
