Colin Gate Deep Sensation (Cajual/Guidance/Yoshitoshi/Junior Boys Own Records)

Yogi has always quoted Deep Sensation as his own personal favourite production outfit to ever come out of Scotland. Todd Terry loved their music so much, he moved them lock, stock and barrel into an apartment in New York to concentrate on making music for his label. Their disco influenced tracks go wayyyy beyond the run of the mill edits sound that has plagued the scene, they go in much, much deeper, utilising really soulful samples and turning tracks completely on their heads. Colin came up and cut his teeth through the northern soul scene, the modern soul scene and of course disco/boogie and later house, his musical knowledge is second to none! All his spare time in New York was spent diggin' for rare and obscure vinyl where he amassed literally thousands of records, and at this MFSB, we can guarantee that there will be MANY obscurites and rarities from that collection on offer, as well as unissued house music and the odd classic.
