Speakers
We have a panel of heavy hitters in the Twin Cities commercial market: Daniel Kurkowski, Rafik Moore, and Kurt Pauley!
⭐ Daniel Kurkowski is the CEO of Obsidian Group and CIO of Onyx Strategic Partners. Daniel started out as a real estate broker and his company has transacted on millions of square feet over his career and acquired roughly 500,000 square feet. He currently runs a real estate investment fund focused on small bay industrial acquisition around the Twin Cities with an eye toward rapid expansion. Onyx Strategic Partners is a construction and development firm owned in conjunction with his wife Jessie Houlihan and partner Brad Heitzinger at Obsidian Group. We believe that building long term partnerships with people who want to outwork the rest of the market and who are ethically aligned is what allows us to outperform our competition.
⭐ Rafik Moore is originally from Uzbekistan and now lives in Edina, MN with his family. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Finance degree. Rafik focuses on improving distressed properties and mentors young leaders. Rafik values hard work, equality, and giving back. He enjoys reading, staying active in the community, running, chess, and mountaineering. Rafik speaks English, Spanish, Russian, and Uzbek.
⭐ Kurt Pauley is Vice President of Multi-Family Investment Sales at NAI Legacy, specializing in the disposition of multifamily, land, and mixed-use assets. Known for his market knowledge and strategic, data-driven approach, he excels at sourcing off-market opportunities, navigating 1031 exchanges, and managing complex transactions. As an owner-operator and multifamily syndicator, he brings practical insight and an investor-focused perspective to every deal. Kurt also founded a 2,500-member real estate meetup that has met monthly since 2018 and recently launched an executive coaching practice to support professionals seeking growth. Outside of work, he enjoys soccer, exploring new food, spending time in nature, and studying history.
