Showcasing Two Chevy Classics:
1950 Chevy 5-Window Pickup
1936 Chevy Coupe!
First up: 1950 Chevy 5-Window Pickup. She was the first and has been in our family for over 30 years! Our dad, Jack built her from the ground up. This Classic Chevy is more than just a truck, she's a labor of love, skill, and history. She sits on a 1970 Nova front clip with a 10-bolt rear end, and under the hood roars a 383 Stroker engine built by Jack’s friend, Dave Hartman. The paint, now over 30 years old, was also done by a friend of Jack’s, this is proof that good craftsmanship, like good friendships, stands the test of time. She brings a whole lot of family & friends memories too, from kids and grandkids helping in some way or another while she was being built, she’s been showcased in many car shows, pictured in magazines, been driven to weddings, and to senior proms, just to name a few. She has always been the star of the show!
Up next: 1936 Chevy Coupe, this beauty was rescued by our dad in 2014. It all started with a T-shirt and an unexpected conversation. While our parents were at the Puyallup Fair on Sept 16, 2014, our dad was approached by a woman who noticed his shirt. She approached him and said "I have a car like that in my garage. it was my dad's, it was driven on our wedding day in 1980 and has been parked ever since" If you know my dad, he had a love for those classics, so he asked if she wanted to sell it and if so could he come look at it. She said sure, so fast forward to that same evening, he and his son-in-law, Mike made their way through the back property through overgrown trees and bushes, just to reach the old garage she was parked and abandoned in since 1980. Once he laid eyes on her, he knew he wanted to bring her home. Of course he had to play the old "kicking tires" strategy so he could get a deal, so he wandered around checking things out and acting all “calm and cool” as if it was no big deal. Then he finally asked "how much do you want?" She said "Oh I don't know, how about $5k?" And you probably already know, that deal was made on the spot! A few weeks later (Oct. 3, 2014), he along with the help of a handful of his longtime buddies went back to pick her up. All it took was some air in the tires and a trailer to get her home.
The best part?.....This is the VERY first time that both vehicles will be shown together, side by side, as a tribute to the love and legacy our parents left behind.
