About the event

Rare Whiskey Tasting
The only theme here is that all three of these whiskeys are hard to get your hands on. All three of these whiskeys I am only able to get 1-2btls of the release, so after this tasting, the only opportunity to get at them again will be at the end of year tasting/raffle on December 6th.

3/4oz pours of each whiskey, $25 for the tasting
Ben Holladay 1856 Original One Barrel Bourbon

61.8% ABV, 8yr 3mo Old

Ben Holladay Bourbon is classified as a Real Missouri Bourbon under a 2019 law requiring that any whiskey labeled as Missouri bourbon must not only meet the federal standards for bourbon, but also be mashed, fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled in the state; aged in oak barrels manufactured in the state; and—beginning January 1, 2020—made with corn exclusively grown in the state.

Penelope Tokaji Cask Finished Rye Whiskey

52% ABV, 9yr old

Tokaji Cask Finish takes Penelope’s bold straight rye whiskey and layers it with the golden sweetness of Hungary’s legendary Tokaji wine casks.

Often called the “wine of kings,” Tokaji brings late harvest richness and vibrant complexity to this 9-yearold rye. Bottled at 104 proof, this limited release delivers a decadent balance of spice, honeyed fruit, and Old World charm.

Little Book Chapter 9: None for Granted

60.9% ABV, A blend of whiskeys ranging from 7-11yrs old

FREDDIE'S NOTE

“None for Granted” is my way of paying homage to the founding flavors that made modern American Whiskey.

Chapter 9 takes us back several decades, to an era when whiskey as we know it was just finding its feet. As possibilities were explored and foundations were laid, a certain profile began to emerge: one built on brown sweets, the comforting warmth of vanilla, creamy caramel and big oak.

Caramel, butterscotch, baking spice and stone fruit. With a full bodie and notes of creamy vanilla and charred oak.
