TATYANA'S WAR: An Author Talk with Helen Charov

Helen Charov will read from and discuss her new book, Tatyana’s War: Escape and Survival on the Eastern Front in World War II, published by McFarland Publishing, and written largely in Eastport. Helen found her mother Tatyana’s diaries in a Connecticut attic and discovered a unique account of her life as a teacher in the Stalinist Soviet Union, the 1941 Nazi invasion of Donetsk, her survival under Nazi occupation, and her harrowing escape to the West. This book switches seamlessly between Tatyana's account of life and death and Helen’s own story as her American-born daughter. Books will be available for sale and signing.
