SEED SAVING LIBRARY, with Paula Kovecses

Peavey Library & Shead High School are launching
A SEED EXCHANGE LIBRARY
on Saturday, May 3, from 1:00-3:00
with a presentation from Paula Kovecses of TWIG:
SEED SAVING LIBRARY: a Community-Driven Initiative.

A seed library functions as a shared resource where individuals can borrow seeds, cultivate plants & return seeds harvested from their crops, ensuring a continuous cycle of exchange & conservation, and fostering local food resilience. Selecting the right plants for seed collection is a crucial step in maintaining seed quality & diversity. This gathering will explore methods for selecting, growing & collecting seeds, empowering participants to contribute meaningfully to the library’s ongoing sustainability.

The library continues to accept packaged seed donations to support the seed library. Opened packages are fine, as long as they are clearly labeled.
