Families are invited to step back in time—way back—at the popular Dino-Trolley event, returning on July 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last tickets sold at 3:30 p.m.). Designed for young dinosaur enthusiasts, this event blends the excitement of trolley rides with a prehistoric twist, offering a day full of imagination, learning, and hands-on activities.
One of the main attractions is the Dino Hunt Safari Trolley Ride, where guests will board a vintage trolley and ride through the museum’s wooded railway. Along the way, life-sized dinosaur figures will be stationed throughout the trees. The trolley will slow down to give passengers a chance to spot them while enjoying a fun, narrated tour by the trolley crew. Please note, these dinosaur figures are static and do not move.
In addition to the trolley adventure, families can dig into the Fossil Dig Station, where young paleontologists can unearth hidden “fossils.” Inside the Visitor Center, children can participate in an I-Spy Dinosaur Scavenger Hunt for prizes, and get creative at the Dino Craft Station to make and take home a dinosaur-themed trolley craft. For photo lovers, there are two special opportunities: a group photo station and an interactive 8-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus Rex display. Guests can also join the Dino Egg Hunt, searching across the museum campus for hidden eggs that can be exchanged for a prize.
Admission for Dino-Trolley is $15 for ages 2 and up. Children under 2 are free but must sit on an adult’s lap during the trolley ride. Museum members receive 50% off admission. Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.ct-trolley.org.
