Hagaman's Science Fiction Book Club will again meet via Zoom on Tuesday, September 9th from 6 - 7:30pm to discuss their latest selection, "Frankenstein; Or, the Modern Prometheus" by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. The publication of "Frankenstein" in 1818 single-handedly gave birth to the science fiction genre. Infused with elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic movement, it has had a considerable influence on literature and on popular culture that endures to this day. "Frankenstein" is also an examination of the themes of loss, guilt, and the consequences of defying nature and the natural order.
