We are still running the team event! Your Coaches will still need to submit your house roster of 8 bowlers prior to the day of the tournament, but that is it. Because, in even more exciting news we are taking inspiration from the DJBT tournaments and parents will be able to sign up their bowlers on line through a google form. They will also be able to pay through Venmo! This will allow us to pre-assign lanes and make sure we are set up prior to the event day. This should allow for a smoother check in process. Hopefully it also takes a burden from the coaches, freeing them up from collecting. We will have Google Forms and links to sign up for each tournament. If your bowler’s parent doesn’t have venmo we can make arrangements. This will be a work in progress but it is important to be able to project tournament prizes, Junior Gold spots, and to help the day run smoothly.
Nothing is ever without cost, so with that, there are some price increases to talk about. We have decided to increase the per tournament fee to $35 a bowler. While this is a significant increase, we are giving away a minimum of three scholarships a stop now instead of waiting until the end of the season. There will be more scholarships given out depending on participation, with a ratio of 1:6 in each of the three divisions. The price increase covers the lineage for four games, a small admin fee ($2.00 per entry) for time and resources used by the Tournament Directors, and increases the prize pool. There will also be a ball raffle to help generate prizes for each stop. The optional Junior Gold qualifier will also cost more and the price is based on the entry fee owed to USBC. There is no admin or additional fees in the Junior Gold entry. The price is only the cost due to the USBC divided by 4 which will be the entry prize ratio.
The new rules package is fairly extensive but covers the individual scholarship divisions, the team tournament, and the optional Junior Gold Qualifier. Please reach out to me with any questions!
