**I. Welcome and Introductions (15 minutes)**
* Review of the meeting's purpose: To formally initiate the process of forming a 501(c)(6) organization and establishing initial board and committee structures.
* Discussion and agreement on the specific common business interest your organization will serve.
* Clarification of the organization's primary purpose and how it will promote the common business interest.
**II. Establishing the Board of Directors (45 minutes)**
* Review of 501(c) (6) board member requirements: A minimum of three members is generally required by the IRS.
* Brainstorming potential board member candidates who are interested in governing the organization and can contribute to its mission.
* Discussion of the ideal board size and the roles of key officers (e.g., President/Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer).
* Timeline and process for nominating and formally electing initial board members
**III. Identifying and Structuring Committees (45 minutes)**
* Discussion of common committees for 501(c)(6) organizations,
**VI. Open Discussion and Q&A (15 minutes)**
* Address any questions or concerns raised during the meeting.
* Opportunities for further discussion and input from all participants.
