Are you ready to embark on a journey to the Moon? In this presentation, you will learn the ins and outs of what it is like to live and work as an analog astronaut researcher. Join us for this fun talk about living in isolation with 6 strangers on the side of the world's most active volcano. You will learn how we pushed our limits to accomplish the mission and the lessons we can all learn from on Earth. Hang on as we embark on a journey to the limits of human exploration in 3...2...1...

Sharife Gacel is an analog astronaut with 12 years of experience as a clinical therapist, a director of a private practice, and licensed in two states (Florida and Colorado). Her areas of specialty include anxiety, life stage transitions, multicultural issues, and general mental health concerns. She received her Master of Science with honors in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Stetson University. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science with honors in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from UCF. Sharife is an artist with the International Association of Astronomical Artists, is a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, and has been selected to participate in 8 NASA Social events. She also manages the social media accounts for her adopted greyhounds Anubis and Cosmos to an audience of 25,000+ people worldwide. Sharife is an amateur astronomer, Divemaster scuba diver, space educator, and animal lover. She enjoys watching rocket launches and loves connecting with others about human spaceflight.

The East Brunswick Astronomy Club (EBAC) was founded with the mission of encouraging and promoting an interest in astronomy and space science throughout East Brunswick and beyond. EBAC meets once a month at the East Brunswick Public Library and meetings typically include a short lecture, open discussion, and telescope observing.

This group is open to adults, teens, and families with children ages 12 and younger.
