Representational & Expressive
with Artist, Janet Vedder
2-day workshop - Thursday, October 9th & 16th from 6:00pm-8:00pm
In this class, students will explore the basics of drawing through observation. You will develop your observational skills, drawing techniques, and explore expressive drawing skills. Expressive drawing will help you discover your individual drawing style. No prior drawing experience is required or expected.
Students will need to bring a sketchbook (suited for drawing with pencil), a kneaded eraser, Staedtler Mars white eraser and a Prismacolor ebony graphite drawing pencil. Students may also bring additional drawing pencils (HB, 2B, 4B) if they choose. Please feel free to bring a beverage or something to snack on.
Janet Nye Vedder has experience as a graphic artist, product illustrator, and art educator. With a Masters in Education and twenty-two years of experience teaching art, she looks forward to teaching a variety of art classes on the Roycroft Campus.
As a Roycroft Artist-in-Residence, Janet currently has a studio in the Roycroft Print Shop where she creates her artwork. Janet works primarily in watercolor and Chinese brush painting; however, she has a strong background in fiber arts and collage.
