Info: Complete Diane Poole Heller's Adult Attachment Style Inventory We start to answer the questions: What is my attachment style, and how do I figure it out?
Can I have more than one style depending on the situation or relationship?
Why do I feel like I don’t fully fit into just one category? Did my attachment style come from my childhood, or can it change over time?
If my parents had their own issues, does that mean I’m fated to repeat the same patterns?
Can trauma or a major life event change my attachment style?
Info: People with a predominantly secure attachment adaptation generally feel comfortable with closeness and independence, but they still ask:
How can I support my partner if they have a different attachment style?
Are there ways I can stay secure even in stressful or triggering relationships?
Can a person with secure attachment behave in ways that are more anxious, avoidant, or disorganized? Why might this happen?
How can I parent in a way that fosters secure attachment in my kids?
Info: Each boxed lunch from Hope Valley Catering comes with a choice of side, a cookie or brownie, condiments and sweet or unsweetened tea. Additionally, there will be coffee (regular and decaffeinated), hot tea, and iced water throughout the day. Details to be completed in event registration form.
Info: Individuals with a predominantly anxious attachment adaptation crave closeness but fear abandonment. Their most common questions are:
Why do I feel panicked when my partner doesn’t respond right away?
How do I stop overthinking or needing constant reassurance?
Why do I keep choosing emotionally unavailable partners?
What’s the difference between intuition and anxiety in relationships?
Can someone love me if I’m “too much” or too needy?
Info: Individuals with a predominantly avoidant attachment adaptation value independence and often suppress emotions. They tend to ask:
Why do I pull away when things start getting serious?
Why do I feel smothered when someone gets too close, even if I like them?
How do I open up emotionally without feeling weak or exposed?
Can I have intimacy without losing my independence?
Is it possible to feel connected without constant closeness?
Info: Individuals with a predominantly fearful-avoidant or disorganized attachment adaptation often experience a sometimes disorienting mix of anxious and avoidant patterns, with more intensity from overwhelming or intrusive interpersonal trauma or insufficient care from the adults they needed. Questions asked can often sound conflicted:
Why do I push people away even though I desperately want closeness?
Why do I go from needing constant reassurance to wanting to disappear?
How do I break the cycle of being drawn to painful or unstable relationships?
Is it possible for me to ever feel truly safe in relationships with others?
How do I heal from the trauma that shaped my attachment style?
