The Last Partera at Carolina Theatre of Durham

Join us at the Carolina Theatre on September 18 for a screening of the "The Last Partera."

The feature documentary follows centenarian Doña Miriam as she confronts the end of her life cycle, and passes on her wisdom as the last living traditional Costa Rican midwife in the region. Inspired by her courage and strength, a new generation pushes for stronger women-centered healthcare at the foot of an active volcano.
