Hilary Cave, Recollections of the Miners' Strike book launch.

People's Bookshop is delighted to welcome Hilary Cave who will be talking about her new book, Recollections of the Miners' Strike.

As head of education at the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), Hilary had a unique vantage point on the miners' strike of 1984-5 and her Recollections offer a powerful examination of this turning point in the modern class struggle.

Acutely perceptive and unflinchingly honest, she describes not only her own role but that of her colleagues and, particularly, of the remarkable women of the coalfields.

Tickets are £5 which can be applied to the cost of the book on the night. Wine and soft drinks, tea, coffee, and nibbles are included in the ticket price.

Doors open at 6.30,pm, the event starts at 7.00 and ends at 9.00.
