Triangle Community Foundation, Research Triangle Foundation, and the Durham Art Guild have collaborated to host this immersive, multi-site reception showcasing Art@Work across the Frontier RTP Campus from 5:30-7:30pm on Thursday, September 18th.
The event will begin at the offices of Research Triangle Foundation (700 Park Offices Drive, Suite 007, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709), featuring "Jadeite" from artist Ina Liu.
We will then transition to the offices of Triangle Community Foundation at 6:30pm, featuring " For, Alongside, Within” from artist Katie Hatfield.
Attendees who are able to visit both galleries during the event will be entered for a chance to win one piece of art from the artist collections showcased at the event. We hope you'll join us for an evening full of incredible local art!
Info: Ina Liu is a visual artist and public health practitioner whose work explores themes of mental health, intergenerational trauma, and cultural identity within the Asian Diaspora. Drawing from her background in healthcare and storytelling, she transforms oral histories and lived experiences into visual narratives through murals, exhibitions, and community-engaged projects. She has exhibited across North Carolina, including solo and group shows at UNC, Artspace, and the Durham Art Guild, and has painted large-scale murals for UNC Health and Raleigh Union Station. As a former artist-in-residence with the Durham Art Guild and a fellow at the UNC Asian American Center, Ina blends research and artistry to foster healing, connection, and social change.
Info: Katie Hatfield is a Durham-based textile artist who helps art lovers adorn their spaces with exceptional pieces through creating unique, unparalleled fiber art that pushes the boundaries of what home decor can be.
Her “noodles” and unique way of marrying various textile methods and punch needle techniques is what sets her work apart, bringing truly iconic offerings to interiors near and far.
Her work has been exhibited at Meredith College, Art Encounters, The Carrack, the Durham Arts Council, 311 Gallery, the Sertoma Arts Center, Angel City Brewery, Peel Gallery and the XIV Florence Biennale. She also collaborates with notable art agencies like Indiewalls and Kalisher, producing one-of-a-kind artworks that bring excitement and movement to hotels, apartment buildings, and healthcare facilities across the US.
