The Highlife Experience: A TONYBRATION

Introducing The High Life Experience — a celebration of rhythm, legacy, and culture. We begin with a Tonybration: a tribute to Tony Allen, the co-architect of Afrobeats and master of the drum language that shaped a continent.

Tony Oladipo Allen was a Nigerian-Ghanaian drummer, composer, and songwriter. As the drummer and musical director of Fela Kuti’s Africa ‘70 from 1968 to 1979, Allen played a pivotal role in the creation of Afrobeat — rooted in Highlife, funk, and jazz. His innovative style and impact on African music will be honoured through this special experience.

Expect versatile spinners and dynamic local bands, filling the space with infectious rhythms that will keep the Highlife energy alive throughout the day.
