Caring for Our Wetlands: Community Clean Up & Creative Workshop!

Make a difference for our Wetlands!

Clean Up Australia and Oxley Creek Catchment Association have teamed up to bring you a morning of community action and connection on Sunday, November 23rd from 8:00 –10:30 am.

Join us for a chance to connect, learn, and create, all while showing care for our environment and local community.

Wetlands are vital for our environment. They provide homes for wildlife, filter our waterways, and keep local ecosystems healthy. At this family-friendly workshop, we'll explore the critical issue of litter harming the Oxley Creek local catchment areas, and how you can help make a difference!

Together, we will:

• Clean Up the local area and care for our environment
• Sort and audit litter to uncover its impact on catchment waterways
• Get creative and design a poster about caring for the catchment and litter prevention!

Time: Please aim to arrive at 7:45 am for an 8:00 am start so we can beat the heat!

Meeting point: In front of the Archerfield Wetlands Community Hub.

Who: All ages and families welcome!

Bring: The Clean Up will be outside, please wear a hat, covered shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle.

Light refreshments will be provided.

About Us

The Oxley Creek Catchment Association (OCCA) is a not-for-profit, community-based environmental organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural environment and resources of the Oxley Creek catchment, located in south-east Queensland.

Clean Up Australia is a national non-profit organisation, whose mission is to inspire and mobilise communities to improve and conserve the environment by eliminating litter and ending waste. With our series of workshops, we aim to showcase the power of community:

• Shared responsibility: Caring for our local environment together
• Education in action: Hands-on learning about litter and its impact on local catchment areas
• Empowerment and inspiration: Small actions add up to meaningful change
