Thaxted is a gorgeous paint box of rainbow colour, and a joy to explore.
This is a 1 hour guided walking tour in Thaxted. You will discover with your Tour Guide, why Thaxted is ‘The Jewel in the Crown of Essex’.
Tour Details
Highlights of the Tour
-The former Old Butcher’s shop where Dick Turpin Essex infamous Highwayman may have worked
-The very rare and beautiful medieval Guildhall
-The home of the famous composer Gustav Holst, who wrote The Planets
Tour Timings
3.30pm - Short coffee and toilet stop, please bring change for this
4-5pm - Meet your Tour guide and Group and go on tour
5-6pm - Enjoy optional fish and chip meal at local hotel

We use a local hotel where your local Guide can reserve a special table, and a very warm welcome awaits our group

Helpful Info
This is one hour of easy walking but everyone must be walking fit!
Sorry but this tour is not suitable for the very elderly, for those in wheelchairs, using walking sticks, or zimmer frames.
Dogs
Well behaved friendly dogs are welcome on tour, but please to be kept on leads at all times during the tour.
